Use and Discard comments on the rise of consumerism in the United States since the Industrial Revolution. The work involved two parts: an archival video montage of working- and middle-class Americans and a regal display of a $1 bill.

It aims to critique the dependence contemporary society has developed on consumer goods and capitalistic ideologies, as well as the wealth gap between classes. The video component maps out the progress and industrialization seen in the Western world, evident in the 19th - 21st centuries. It provides context to the audience, encompassing the structural shift in the society during the rise of the consumerism.
