Use and Discard comments on the rise of consumerism in the United States since the Industrial Revolution. The work involved two parts: an archival video montage of working- and middle-class Americans and a regal display of a $1 bill.

The video component maps out the progress and industrialization seen in the Western world, evident in the 19th - 21st centuries.
